Head to head

The honest verdicts.

vs JobBOSS

JobBOSS is mature, with a genuine scheduling engine and a big integrator network — the right call at 50+ employees if you can absorb the cost. DMOS is far cheaper, UK-native, and the ISO 9001 module is full-fat, not a bolt-on. We expect to add a real scheduler in year two, closing the main gap.

vs E2

E2 is a credible budget option for simple repeat-job shops. DMOS includes a full quality module, AI features and a modern UI E2 doesn't have — and at our £79 Starter we undercut E2's basic tier while giving you materially more in the box.

vs Fishbowl

Fishbowl is built for inventory and warehousing, not job-shop manufacturing. DMOS is purpose-built for quote-to-paid CNC work with a real quality system. If you need warehouse depth with thousands of SKUs, Fishbowl wins; for precision manufacturing, it's the wrong shape.

The comparison that matters

DMOS vs the way you work now.

Most shops don't choose between DMOS and JobBOSS — they choose between DMOS and "the way we've always done it": Excel, paper, Sage, email threads.

Where we're not as good

The honest "not yet" list.

We'd rather you pick the right system than the wrong one with our logo on it. A few things our competitors do better today:

  • Real scheduling engine. Our capacity grid is read-only. Auto-sequencing across machines is JobBOSS territory today — a year-two partnership for us.
  • Machine data (OEE). We don't pull telemetry from Fanuc/Mazak controls yet.
  • AS9100 certification. We support ISO 9001:2015 patterns; AS9100 aerospace patterns are mostly covered but not formally certified.
  • Years of references. We're new. If "thousands of others use it" matters most, that's their advantage.
